In response to a growing demand for children and adolescent mental health services, Bellevue Hospital and HHC announced the opening of a new, 24-hour Children’s Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program. Hospital officials and actress Uma Thurman, a Children of Bellevue volunteer, unveiled the new unit this week, and Dr. Jennifer Havens, Director of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, talked about the importance of providing a safe place to go for children and teens in crisis.
