Gingerbread House Activity
Volunteers came to Bellevue on December 13th and built gingerbread houses with the children on our inpatient pediatric psychiatry unit. This year the children seemed to have a mission of putting as much candy on their houses as they possibly could. Most of them succeeded too. It was a fun evening for children and volunteers alike.
At the end of the evening the houses were put together to create a scrumptious gingerbread village for all to see. Gift Wrapping
On Monday, December 11th volunteers came to Bellevue to assist the staff in wrapping holiday gifts. There are a number of children who stay in our inpatient care units throughout the holiday. Many of these children are in foster care or from low-income families. Through in-kind and monetary donations we are able to provide each child with gifts to help ease the pain and loneliness of being in the hospital during the winter holidays.

North Pole Calls
On December 6th children on Bellevue's inpatient pediatric psychiatry unit had the chance to call the North Pole and speak with a group of Santa's 'elves' (volunteers from our Board and Junior committee). These friendly Christmas helpers talked to the kids about school, the holidays, their favorite colors, songs and all sorts of things. It was an exciting evening for the children and the elves.
