Adopt A Family for The Holidays!
As everyone knows, the holidays are a time for giving–giving gifts to those we love and giving to those in need. Here at Children of Bellevue we like to say we give the More than Medicine that our patients need to Thrive.
This holiday season we have two special cases of families who need your help:
This is a family of four: three children and a single mother. The mother is in her early twenties with a history of depression. Despite her condition, mom has been able to take care of herself, her youngest son’s medical condition and the other two children. The youngest child is 18th months old, has had a major surgery and several medical procedures. They all come together to the medical visits. We notice how the older child (who is a 5 year old boy) is very caring and always watches over his youngest siblings. The middle child (who is a 4 year old girl) is very eager to learn as are her siblings. Even more, the family lives in a shelter. Therefore, due to their psychosocial situation, this is a family that has very limited resources and they will benefit very much from any support and assistance. Toys, warm clothes and adult/household gifts are needed. If you would liket to help this family, please contact Patrick Tekula: email@example.com for specific clothing sizes and special needs.
This is a family of four children and two parents originally from Mexico. Thier twelve year old boy is the oldest. Seven year old boy has a significant cleft palate so he has expressive speech challenges as well as some other delays. The five year old girl has a serious endocrine disease that requires daily medication. She was recently hospitalized because she was in an acute medical crisis that could have been life threatening. The infant needs a liver transplant which will be provided by the mother giving a portion of her liver. This means both mother and child will need medical care post-surgery. The family lost their apartment and all of their possessions in a fire this past March. They have recently gotten an apartment but are starting from scratch with a limited budget to buy the basics for the household. Father works in a deli and the mother stays home with the children. Toys, warm clothes and adult/household gifts are needed. If you would liket to help this family, please contact Patrick Tekula: firstname.lastname@example.org for specific clothing sizes and special needs.
